Eat Something Privacy Policy
Eat Something helps you pick a dinner option, share the result when you choose, and search Apple Maps for nearby restaurants.
1. Information We Store
Eat Something stores the following information locally on your device:
- Your dinner options and any edits you make to them.
- Weekly reminder settings if you enable reminders.
- Spin count and review-prompt state so the app can manage rating prompts respectfully.
2. How Information Is Used
This information is used to provide the app's core features: choosing dinner ideas, remembering your custom options, scheduling optional local reminders, and deciding when to request an App Store rating.
3. Location
Eat Something only requests your current location when you tap the location button on the restaurant search screen. Location is used to open an Apple Maps restaurant search near you. The app does not store your precise location or send it to our own servers.
4. Typed Locations
If you type a town, city, postcode, or area, the app may resolve that text into location choices so you can select the right place before searching. The selected location is used to open Apple Maps for the restaurant search.
5. Notifications
If you enable weekly reminders, Eat Something schedules local notifications on your device. These reminders are managed by iOS and are not sent through our servers.
6. Sharing and Apple Maps
Eat Something does not share your dinner choices unless you choose to use the iOS share sheet. The app can open Apple Maps to search for restaurants. Apple Maps is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy practices.
7. Analytics and Advertising
Eat Something does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking. The app is not designed to track you across apps or websites.
8. Retention and Deletion
Your app settings and dinner options remain on your device until you change them, reset them, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, subject to normal iOS backup and device-management behaviour.
9. Children's Privacy
Eat Something is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the effective date above will be updated.
11. Contact
